The Luminaries

Welcome The Luminaries, our brand new transformative 3-month programme, carefully designed to strengthen your practice in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

We invite coaches, small business owners, education leaders, social workers, and all ambitious professionals ready to challenge the status quo and make a lasting impact on themselves and the folks in their constellations.

This programme delves into the essence of emotional intelligence (EQ), a cornerstone for building inclusive and equitable environments. We offer dynamic activities that develop self-awareness, enhance empathy, and refine social skills, facilitating both your intellectual and emotional growth. We also examine relevant case studies, fostering thoughtful reflection on the pivotal role EQ plays in creating spaces that embrace diversity.

Beyond the theoretical, we’ll equip you with practical tools to appreciate the diversity (or lack of) of your audience asking you to confront their unique characteristics and needs and your ability to serve them truly. You’ll participate in perspective-shifting exercises, discussions, and visualisation practices that let you walk in the shoes of different audience members, revealing the true value of empathy in leadership and service provision.

We explore various methods to assess inclusion and belonging, aligning these elements with your organisation's core principles. The journey continues as you'll learn to identify areas of deficit and improvement, leading to more inclusive and equitable practice in any professional setting.

Addressing complex DEI matters may raise risks and challenges, but this course is designed to prepare you for such instances. We provide strategies for risk mitigation, emotional regulation during difficult times, always with the preservation of inclusivity in mind.

The programme includes curated reading lists and multimedia resources, enriching your understanding and stimulating thoughtful reflections. These materials will broaden your perspectives, provide fresh insights, and spark critical thinking.

Join us as we set out to patrol the border between what has been and what will be.

The Melanated Mastermind

The Melanated Mastermind is the perfect mentoring program for women of colour looking to access their higher-order thinking, deepest knowing, confidence, clarity, and stability.

Designed specifically for those who have struggled with leadership programs that don't address the unique experiences of women of colour, this program provides a supportive space to navigate the challenges of being a woman of colour in the workplace and reaching your next major career goal.

You'll gain an understanding of key competencies for transformational leaders, leadership tools and frameworks and develop a personal career strategy. You'll also have opportunities to craft your authentic leadership style, understand barriers to progress for minority ethnic groups, increase confidence and amplify your leadership voice. This programme is about positioning you in a place of sovereignty and backing you up with a community rooted in power and sisterhood.

The Being Luminary Programme

The Being Luminary Programme supports leaders in building a culture to be proud of. Our programme is designed to ensure that everyone feels a sense of belonging and is able to bring all aspects of their identities to the organisation.

We understand the importance of addressing minoritised identities and the intersections between them. That's why we take a holistic account of all identities and help you shape a strategy that promotes belonging for all.

Our programme is built on the wisdom of many, not just the energies and ingenuity of a few. It is a group programme that allows you to get to know your team better and learn about each other's identities and value systems as they apply to DEI within a collaborative setting.

In both content and approach, our programme teaches you how to create a culture to be proud of. Here's what's included:

  • This keynote, delivered in an interactive style, addresses all staff in your organisation. We take a narrative lens and amplify the power of personal stories and high-profile cases to create a compelling and often moving session. You can expect to be provoked, challenged, and leave energised and galvanised. We also encourage your staff to take an (optional) survey and a curriculum audit to gather crucial data on your workforce.

  • These sessions cover the characteristics covered by the UK Equality Act of 2010. They are deep and wide-ranging and facilitated by our team of expert consultants.

  • Your organisation will receive our unique resources, including the Being Luminary Staff Survey and Analysis Tool, the Being Luminary Belonging Framework, and the Being Luminary Policy Analysis Toolkit.

  • Being Luminary Curriculum Audit: This audit will help you identify gaps in your current curriculum and support you in creating a more inclusive learning environment.

The Being Luminary Short Course

The Being Luminary Short Course is a purely online course designed for utmost flexibility and accessibility.

A downloadable and fillable workbook supports each module or session of this six-part programme. These workbooks are your primary learning guides, designed to be interactive and engaging. Each workbook is paired with a series of videos and short recorded lectures to supplement your learning.

The course is delivered over 38 lessons of varying length, and the multimedia resources provide further depth and context to the topics at hand, allowing you to better understand and apply the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in your professional environment.

The course is designed for anyone involved in the effective running of an educational establishment. This includes leaders, aspiring leaders, teachers, administrators, site staff, cleaning staff, and kitchen staff. It is suitable for anyone who wants to enrich their approach to diversity, equity, inclusion, and overall operational effectiveness.

Sovereign Woman

Sovereign Woman is THE course for any woman who wants to feel better and who wants to gain stability, clarity, and sovereignty across her life.

It’s for the woman who has tried in the past to take other routes like indulging in self-help books but who has found that without community and accountability, it has been challenging to follow through.

It’s for the woman who has done leadership programmes before but focused on leading better in the workplace, not leading better across the entirety of her life.

It’s for the woman who tried to tough it out, telling herself, “These are first-world problems,” or “Life isn't so bad — what's to complain about?”

That woman is you, and the truth is, you’re overwhelmed by the moving parts of your life, which is completely understandable. It feels as though as soon as you get one aspect in balance, it threatens to capsize the equilibrium that you have in another area.

You want more juice out of life, but you haven’t got the energy to squeeze it. This in itself is hard to sit with because you feel like you have something important to do here on earth but have no idea what it is.

I know it’s a lot to navigate alone, which is why I created this programme rooted in sovereignty and sisterhood.

Luminary Governance

As Governors, your understanding and implementation of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles are critical to the success and harmony of your school environment.

Governors need to consider for themselves what equality, diversity, and inclusion mean in the context of their schools. This will inform the school’s approach to cultivating a more equitable culture. This training will help illuminate these key overarching principles: Equality, Strength in Diversity, Creating a Safe Environment, Ensuring Belonging, Challenging Prejudice, Zero-Tolerance of Discrimination, Taking concerns and disclosures seriously.

  • Understanding DEI: Discover the laws, principles, and responsibilities surrounding DEI in the workplace.

DEI Leadership and Quality Assurance: Cultivate the ability to lead DEI initiatives and assess the quality of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in DEI.

Risk Management, Stakeholder Engagement, and Feedback: Develop effective risk management strategies, engage meaningfully with stakeholders, and respond appropriately to feedback related to DEI.

DEI Policy Development, Practice, and Impact Assessment: Support the creation of effective DEI policies, integrate DEI into daily operations, and learn to measure the effectiveness of your DEI practices.

Each session concludes with an open forum for Q&A and discussion, providing you an opportunity to further understand and apply your learning.
